For the first time ever, horses and ponies throughout Ireland, diagnosed with lameness problems, can now be MRI scanned in a bid to locate the problem and cause.

Troytown Equine Hospital and Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging have co-operated to install the new unit. This new facility is set to speed up the diagnosis process and help racehorses, sport horses and leisure horses back on the road to recovery.

The Hallmarq MRI Scanner is located in a new purpose designed building, situated within the main equine hospital site and our specialist team of vets at Troytown have been trained to use the scanner. Read More…

On Monday October 27th, 2008, The Irish Blue Cross Special Merit Award, in its eleventh year was presented to Troytown Equine Hospital following the Irish Blue Cross sponsored Handicap race at Leopardstown racecourse. Troytown was singled out as the 2008 recipient of the Award because of its excellence in providing emergency, preventative and round the clock aftercare to equines. Read More…

About Us

Troytown Equine Hospital is conveniently located off the M7 Dublin - Limerick motorway. At the Kildare junction, head towards Kildare town turning right at the T junction with traffic lights. Coming towards Kildare town you take the first left. This short road takes you uphill for 100 metres. At the crossroads you take the left turn and you pass over the railway bridge. Troytown is located one mile along this road on your right hand side.
